Psychedelic Science Conference: How psychedelics are waking us up and what this means for the future of mental health

I had the chance to present in Denver for the Psychedelic Science Conference this May. My solo talk, titled “How psychedelics are waking us up and what this means for the future of mental health”, covered my journey as a physician coming to psychedelics, starting with ketamine ten years back, and how the future of psychedelics in the field of mental health has begun to unfold. Mainstream treatments fall short for too many. Psychedelic medicines, when properly used, and coupled with psychotherapy, are showing unprecedented promise for those who are suffering. Studies of psychedelics show they are not only effective at addressing psychological distress, but are also safe. “Studies examining use patterns in humans & self-administration in animals suggest that classic psychedelics possess little or no abuse liability, and may even be anti-addictive.” The future looks bright for psychedelics!
