Psychedelic Therapy Frontiers: What is ADHD and what can we do about it?

Clearly Steve and I were having a good time recording this episode because we went almost 30 minutes over :) There’s just so much to talk about when it comes to ADHD—what it is neurobiologically, what causes it, how those changes manifest themselves in everyday life, finding ways to manage this condition, etc.… In my opinion, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is sort of a misnomer—it’s more of an Executive Function Deficit Disorder.

By inhibiting a person’s ability to self-direct, choose goals, and select, enact, and sustain actions across time, it can put their hopes/dreams/relationships at risk. That sounds scary, but the good news is that we’ve found a lot of ways to help people with ADHD. They are extremely effective medications, environmental changes, and behavioral changes that can help. If you’re interested in hearing about this (and much more) go ahead and check out the episode!
