Psychedelic Therapy Frontiers: Modern technology and mental health

This week’s episode was a fun one AND fitting for our very first remote podcast recording. With the amazing technological advancements we’ve seen, even in just the past few decades, I’m sure you can think of numerous ways modern technology is being used to promote health care. In the mental health field, genetic testing is emerging as a new kind of diagnostic tool that can reveal genetic predispositions and help to guide a patient and their doctor in finding a medication that is well-suited for that particular person. There are sleep tracking devices, even sleep tracking mattresses, to maximize the recovery time your brain gets each night. Steve and I also touch on VR therapy experiences, AI “therapist” chatbots, the pros and cons of telehealth, and more. There’s just so much to talk about, but I hope you enjoy our discussion.
