We’ll review relevant research, along with medical, legal and safety frameworks for psychedelic-assisted therapy for treating eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia, and binge-eating disorder. This free presentation will go into depth on the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic modality which posits that each individual is a collection of distinct “parts” and each part has its own perspective, feelings, memories, goals, and motivations. By pairing IFS with ketamine treatment, clients can gain significant insights about themselves and their disordered eating behaviors in order to restore mental, emotional, and physical harmony. The presentation will cover how ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) works and how it can be used to support therapy and facilitate healing. Dr. Robison will also review study data evaluating IFS and KAP for the treatment of eating disorders and other mental health indications.
