CFC Webinar: Integrating Internal Family Systems with Ketamine for Eating Disorders

This free presentation will go into depth on the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic modality which posits that each individual is a collection of distinct “parts” and each part has its own perspective, feelings, memories, goals, and motivations. By pairing IFS with ketamine treatment, clients can gain significant insights about themselves and their disordered eating behaviors in order to restore mental, emotional, and physical harmony. The presentation will cover how ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) works and how it can be used to support therapy and facilitate healing. Dr. Robison will also review study data evaluating IFS and KAP for the treatment of eating disorders and other mental health indications.

Based on the content of the workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the basic principles of the therapeutic modality “Internal Family Systems.”

  2. Explain the basic principles of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.

  3. Describe how IFS paired with ketamine can be beneficial for helping patients with eating disorders.
