Psychedelic Therapy Frontiers: Pairing ketamine with EMDR & other therapy methods

For this week’s episode of Psychedelic Therapy Frontiers, Steve and I wanted to focus on a therapy technique called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). We’re joined by EMDR connoisseur Bob Mcnutt, LCSW, to discuss how ketamine pairs with a variety of psychotherapy modalities, like EMDR. We summarize the basics principles of EMDR and what the experience is like for patients. We also hit on the importance of embracing feelings of discomfort adjoining therapy, while still remaining in the Window of Tolerance. We also review some other therapeutic modalities: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Hakomi therapy, for example. Feel free to take a deeper dive into this episode at Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube.
