UNM Psychedelic Medicine Interest Group: A new era in psychiatry

I recently had the privilege of presenting to a group of young physicians and healthcare professionals at UNM who are interested in pursuing psychedelics for mental health conditions. I spoke about how psychedelics are shifting the field of psychiatry, requiring new paradigms and protocols for how we understand and treat psychiatric disorders, especially ones that are difficult to treat—such as PTSD, eating disorders, and treatment-resistant depression. I also go into some of the ways we’re focusing on these conditions using psychedelics at Novamind.
